Hoje vamos aprender a usar o verbo to be de uma maneira diferente. Para indicar que há algo. Então vamos lá:
There is - há
Eg.:
There is a student in the classroom.
(Há um aluno na sala de aula)
There are - há (plural)
Eg.:
There are five pens in the box.
(Há cinco canetas na caixa)
Is there? - há?
Eg.:
Is there a dictionary on the table?
(Há um dicionario sobre a mesa?)
Are there? - há? (plural)
Eg.:
Are there many students in the classroom?
(Há muitos estudantes na sala?)
Para fazer a Negative Form (forma negativa) coloca-se not após o verbo.
Eg.:
There is not... / There isn't - não há. There isn't a boy here. Nã há um garoto aqui.
There are not... / There aren't - não há. (plural). There aren't many pens on the table. Não há muitas canetas na mesa.
Obs.:
There is = There's
There's not = There isn't
There are not = There aren't
